For Parents & Families
The SciHigh Family-School Support and Advocacy Council- We are committed to partnering with parents and families to ensure our students receive the guidance, resources and support they need and deserve. That is why we started the Family-School Support and Advocacy Council. The Council provides a myriad of opportunities to get involved in your student's education and in the school. Our vision is for an organization which allows parents a real voice in school development and which gives them the training and tools needed for leadership in leading and advocating on our students and school’s behalf. Contact the school to get involved. Communication- Our faculty knows that when parents and teachers respect by each other and are empowered to advocate for their students, students have better attendance, get better grades and are more likely to graduate and go to college. You are always encouraged to stay in contact with your child's teachers . Click here for faculty contact information. Volunteer- Having positive role models is important for all our students. What better way than to have parents volunteer at the school? Click here to learn more about volunteer opportunities. Join a Committee- Is there an issue or project you are interested in? Currently, parent committees include: a Social Events Committee, School Garden Project Committee, Nutrition and Health Committee, Family Resource Committee and many more.
Resources for Families- We currently run a Parent Personal Growth Group, hold Family Nutrition Classes and provide information and referals for housing, mental health and other services. In the coming months, we plan to build a Parent Resource Room, start computer and GED classes and expand our community service program.
