The Foundation for Science & Mathematics Education While the school receives public funding for each student, such funding is only enough to cover teachers' salaries and a few basics. Everything else, from special science lab equipment, fieldtrips, summer internships, homework assistance, the Professional Electives Program and faculty professional development is funded by monies raised by The Foundation for Science and Mathematics Education. For everything that makes SciHigh so special, we rely on gifts to the Foundation. Your gift to the Foundation will go directly to programs that prepare our students for college and rewarding careers. Here are some of the ways your donation can help: Library books $25 will purchase library books fo rth eschool library to provide resources for learning. School equipment $50 helps to purchase lab equipment, computers and software, essentials for hands-on learning. Homework assistance $100 provides extra assistance to help our students tackle the school's rigorous coursework. Travel to conferences, field trips, competitions $150 helps our students broaden their knowledge and compete with students at other schools. Professional Electives Program $250 assists in connecting students with outside professionals who teach insightful elective courses. Faculty professional development $500 helps to attract and retain the best teachers through continuing educational opportunities and professional training. Summer Science Internships $1000 to $1500 underwrites one paid summer internship that allows a student to apply skills in a lab or research setting.
